365 Days of Photos: Day 1

photobooth Ok, so I haven’t blogged much in a little while, and so much has happened since my last post! One of the biggest things is that me and my husband moved back to Wyoming, and we’ll most likely be here for a while. Also, after over 2 months of living here, I finally got reconnected to the Internet about a week ago. I don’t know about you, but being without the Internet is killer hard in todays day and age. Everything seems to rely on it. One thing I haven’t been able to do since I didn’t have a very good Internet connection is upload some of the most recent pictures I’ve taken, and blog about them. I’ve taken so many pictures that I haven’t had a chance to put up yet! I did a Wedding and baby pictures back in December, and I had the chance to take some Engagements in February. And even more engagement will be coming your way after this next weekend, but I guess I’ll just have to take it one post at a time, and I’ve got one right here I’m working on.

Anyways, the main thing I wanted to type about today is the 365 day photo challenge I’ve decided to do with a group of both friends and acquaintances (who I’m sure will turn into friends as well). The goal is to take a photo a day for a whole year and then blog about each one along the way. So today, March 1st, 2011, marks the beginning of my challenge.

For today's photo I decided to take a picture of myself. I did this for multiple reasons. #1 I wanted to introduce myself somewhat to the other people doing this challenge. #2 I am somewhat conceded (eh not too much though Winking smile), really I just thought it was time to update the pictures I had of myself since I haven’t had a picture taken of me since October (that’s almost 5 months ago, I’ve gained 15 lbs since then, and that needs to be documented, Smile with tongue out jk).

I decided to join this challenge because I want to remember the moments in my life right now. I’m not very good at remembering details and stories without pictures/ journal entries/ blog entries to remind me of all that’s happened. Also, this past January I discovered that I didn’t take a single picture that whole month, and I thought that was just sad. For someone who loves taking pictures as much as I do, having a whole month go by without growing my talent at all seems like such a waste. But no more! Sticking to this challenge will surely take care of that. I've always wanted to do something like this. I look forward to making and documenting the events of this year, both significant and seemingly insignificant alike. And maybe all of this practice will help me learn and grow as a photographer. We will see I guess!

Anyways, feel free to follow my 365 day journey. I’ll be posting the pictures to this blog under the tag of “365 Day Photo Challenge.”

To all of my friends, I hope that you have a terrific day!! And you are welcome to join the challenge! Or if not this one, come up with a challenge of your own. There is no better way to learn and grow! I love challenges and goals, they encourage me to do more than I’ve done before!

Thanks for taking the challenge Courtney! It'll be so much fun to follow your pictures as well as your thoughts each day for a year! Especially since you'll probably be seeing some cool different things in your new place! Oh yes and you are so gorgeous! Wish I looked that good in my glasses! Beautiful beautiful!
