New Logo

So, one of the things that I've been meaning to do forever is make my very own logo. In the past I've simply used text (that is if I used anything at all) to watermark my photos. Since I've had some time recently, I've come up with a few logos, but I can't for the life of me decide which one to use! That's why I was hoping that I could ask you guys to vote on which one I should start using. Which one looks the most professional/impressive? Input would be great! I'll show you the options here, and then you should vote using the Poll Gadget on the top right of my blog page. You can also vote for none of them, and in that case I will keep working on it... Thanks for your help!

Studio Fun (Photos from the Archive)

For my Photojournalism class, one of our assignments was to use one of the school's portrait studios to take a couple of group pictures. My friend Jess was kind enough to let me use her and her adorable children as my subjects.

After my experience using a studio, it made me want to put one together too someday. It's way awesome to be able to better control the lighting, and it would be way fun to have different sets and props (sadly the school didn't have much for me to work with besides three backdrops and some stools, I brought the bear that is in some of the pictures from home).

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think.

Some Graduate Pics (Photos from the Archive)

In the Spring of 2009 a couple of friends of mine asked me to take some graduation pictures for them. Although the weather wasn't really on our side the only day all of us were able to go out and take pictures, there still were a couple of fun ones from the sessions. That's one thing that I've found whenever I go out to take pictures, and that is that you need to be able to take your time. If you're rushed by a schedule or the weather it's not nearly as fun, and the pictures don't quite turn out as well as they would have if everyone involved was able to relax. But despite the weather in this case, we still had some fun.

Roommate Pics from a Sunday Stroll (Photos from the Archive)

These pictures were taken when me and two of my roommates decided to take a Sunday stroll one afternoon back in October of 2009 (I told you this blog could use some updating, that was almost a year ago!). Anyways, my roommates were good sports for giving me shooting practice (with the camera that is). And here are just some of my favorites from that day. Sorry if you've already seen these on Facebook. But if you haven't, enjoy!

My First Engagements Ever (Photos from the Archive)

So, I have a lot of what I would call pretty good photos, but, I never had time to add them to this blog. Now, since I'm in between jobs and am not going to school, I have tonz o' time (probably more than I would want). So I might as well spend some of it working on this blog. The first thing I decided to do was to go through some of my old pictures. I have a lot of them on faceboook (if any of my friends have seen them on there), but they would be so much easier to find if I laid them all out on my blog.

These are some from my first experience ever taking official engagement pictures, back in April 2009. I was able to go tag along with Dave Terry, and be his "second shooter," though I don't know if I was really qualified for that. But it was a good experience, and I learned a lot. I even learned that taking pictures was something that I could do. I'd taken pictures for people before, but it was around this time in my life that I found that taking pictures was really something that I wanted to do. Here are some of the pictures from the engagement session. If you keep scrolling, I'll include some from the couple's wedding day as well.

Ok, you've stayed with me this long. Now here are some from the wedding day, as promised :)
